This fully online program series is designed for individuals looking to work or volunteer as an Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) or who are already working in the field and seeking to obtain an ECA Certificate or Diploma to upgrade their qualifications and advance their career.
The 100-hour online ECA Certificate program is comprised of two sessions and 10 asynchronous course modules. It can be taken as a stand-alone Certificate program or as a micro-credential of the Diploma program.
This is Session 1. It consists of 5-course modules 50 hours total. The courses are:
- Foundations of Early Childhood Education
- Essential Communication Skills
- Introduction to Child Psychology
- Personal and Interpersonal Dynamics
- Infant and Child Development
Upon successful completion of Sessions 1, participants will be issued an official transcript.

- Play-Based Early Learning Strategies
- Observation Skills
- Guiding Children’s Behaviour
- Language and Literacy
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
Upon successful completion of Sessions 3, participants will be issued an official transcript.

- Physical and Multiple Exceptionalities
- Creating Inclusive Programs
- ECA Practicum
Upon completion of Sessions 3 & 4, participants will be issued an Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) Diploma and an official transcript.
