This course is designed for those who are considering teaching English as a Second Language either in an English speaking country or abroad. This course requires that participants complete a minimum of 25 hours of volunteering in an educational support environment. Participants are responsible for arranging their own volunteer practicum. The practicum must be completed in Canada working with children with special needs and overseen by a certified teacher who will serve as the Mentor Teacher. In order to pass this course the Mentor Teacher must provide the online instructor for this course with a written positive performance review and the participant must submit a written post-practicum reflection to their instructor.
- Upon completion of the practicum, participants will be issued a Volunteer Practicum in Education Support Certificate and an official transcript.
- Participants must first complete all four sessions in Educational Support for admission to this course.
