This online learning program series has been designed for those who wish to have specialized post-secondary education and training to volunteer or pursue a career as an Educational Support/Assistant or who are already working in the field and want to upgrade their qualifications. This is Session 1. It consists of 5-course modules 50 hours total. The courses are:
- Introduction to Education Support
- Technology in Education
- Essential Communications Skills
- Introduction to Child Psychology
- Safety in an Educational Setting
Upon successful completion of Sessions 1, participants will be issued an official transcript.

- Personal and Interpersonal Dynamics
- Developmental Psychology
- Adaptive and Assistive Technology in Education
- Inclusion and Diversity
- Nutrition
Upon successful completion of Sessions 1 & 2, participants will be issued the Certificate in Education Support and an official transcript.
This online learning program series has been designed for those who wish to have specialized post-secondary education and training to volunteer or pursue a career as an Educational Support/Assistant or who are already working in the field and want to upgrade their qualifications. This is Session 3. It consists of 5-course modules 50 hours total. The courses are:
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
- Communication Exceptionalities
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Behaviour and Mental Health Exceptionalities
- Physical and Multiple Exceptionalities
Upon successful completion of Sessions 3, participants will be issued an official transcript.
This online learning program series has been designed for those who wish to have specialized post-secondary education and training to volunteer or pursue a career as an Educational Support/Assistant or who are already working in the field and want to upgrade their qualifications. This is Session 4. It consists of 5-course modules 50 hours total. The courses are:
- Learning Strategies
- Transition Planning
- Classroom Skills
- Emotional Resilience
- Career Planning
Upon completion of Sessions 3 & 4, participants will be issued a Diploma in Education Support and an official transcript.
This course requires that participants complete a minimum of 25 hours of volunteering in an educational support environment. Participants are responsible for arranging their own volunteer practicum. The practicum must be completed in Canada working with children with special needs and overseen by a certified teacher who will serve as the Mentor Teacher. In order to pass this course the Mentor Teacher must provide the online instructor for this course with a written positive performance review and the participant must submit a written post-practicum reflection to their instructor.
- Upon completion of the practicum, participants will be issued a Volunteer Practicum in Education Support Certificate and an official transcript.
- Participants must first complete all four sessions in Educational Support for admission to this course.
